FAQ

  • Yes! Two of our counselors Joce Grayson & Laura Gardea are both CPR & First Aid certified.

  • We strive to make sure each child gets the attention they need, so we aim to have no more than 6 children per counselor.

  • The furthest field trip is to Gateway Nature Preserve at Washington Park /Old Salem Seed Saving Laboratory- this is approximately a 10-12 minute walk along mostly residential roads (35mph maximum). For these walks, three adults will be present with high-visibility gear & crosswalk equipment. The adults will be at the front, middle, & rear to ensure the safety of the children!

  • Yes! the back 1/3rd of the Southside Food Forest lot is entirely shaded by large canopy trees - however we will also have a refreshment station under a 10ft x 10ft canopy tent.

  • Not to worry! We have several extra 10x10 canopy tents & activities planned for just the occasion, including painting, dancing, & singing!

  • The Southside Food Forest is surrounded on three sides by residential lots & fencing.

    The lot is 1/4 acre big - it would be very hard to get lost here!

  • Not yet! However, temporary bathrooms will be provided by a permanently stationed RV or porta-john, depending on the session.

    All drinking water will be provided!
